Hyderabad: The city police imposed Section 144 CrPc prohibiting assembly of four or more persons at the counting centres of Hyderabad and Secunderabad Parliament constituencies on Tuesday.
Instructions to this effect were issued by the Hyderabad Police Commissioner K Sreenivasa Reddy here on Monday. No one would be allowed till 200 meters from the counting hall. Orders were also issued for closure of liquor shops from 6 am on Tuesday (June 4) to 6 am on Wednesday (June 5).
The police also imposed prohibitory orders on bursting of firecrackers at public places to celebrate the victory of candidates.
The district administration in coordination with the police made security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the counting process at 16 centres in the city. In addition to the city police, the personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) would be deployed at the counting centres.( Source : Deccan Chronicle )
