Hyderabad: The Secunderabad-Danapur Express (12791), which travels through Prayagraj where the Maha Kumbh is being held, has been cancelled by the Railway Board citing operational reasons. The train, which was scheduled to depart at 9:25 AM from Secunderabad on Wednesday, was announced as cancelled on Tuesday at 7:35 PM, just 14 hours before its scheduled departure.

In addition, the return train, Danapur-Secunderabad, due to arrive in Secunderabad on February 21, has also been cancelled.
It is reported that around 1,500 passengers had planned to visit the Maha Kumbh and are now expressing their frustration on social media over the sudden cancellation.
This train is the only direct connection from Secunderabad to Prayagraj, and officials explained that the decision was made due to the high volume of traffic at the Prayagraj railway station during the ongoing Kumbh festival.
