Seethakka Pledges Enhanced Welfare for Tribal Students in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka has emphasised that the welfare of students remained a top priority for the government. Speaking alongside tribal welfare secretary Dr A. Sarath, the minister highlighted the government's efforts to resolve decade-old issues plaguing the education sector.

Minister Seethakka, in a recent video conference with about 850 school officials of tribal welfare institutions, said that the government's vision was to make welfare schools and hostels the symbols of dignity, growth, and pride for students. The meeting was organised with inputs from the Gurukul schools secretary Sita Lakshmi and deputy director, tribal welfare, Sarveshwar Reddy, among others.

The minister outlined the progress made by the government, particularly in resolving pending issues like teacher promotions and transfers and said other staff-related concerns, including non-teaching staff issues, would be addressed. She said action would be taken against officials who were found to be complacent.

She directed hostel staff to treat students like their own children, make them feel at home at hostels and ensure that they do not venture into dangerous areas. Seethakka stressed the importance of serving freshly cooked meals and provide properly boiled drinking water. She also directed that the state government's prescribed food menu be strictly followed in hostels.

The Minister expressed concern over attempts by certain individuals to destabilise the morale of employees, cautioning against those trying to discredit the government by exaggerating minor issues. She advised staff to remain cautious and work diligently, as teachers lay the foundation for the future of students.
