Seethakka slams Bandi for resorting to communal politics

BJP ignored Telangana interests, says Seethakka

Hyderabad: Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka on Wednesday slammed Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar for resorting to communal politics, ignoring the interests of Telangana on all fronts.

Appealing to voters to extend support to Congress during MLC elections in a video message, she accused the Central government of failing to implement promises made to the youth and unemployed for the last 11 years.

The BJP said it would create two crore jobs per year if voted to power, but it didn’t even provide 200 jobs in a district. Referring to Sanjay’s remarks, she said the former was engaging in religious politics instead of answering the unemployed and the youth and addressing their problems.

“As there is nothing to speak of, Sanjay is indulging in communal politics. That's why when Sanjay opens his mouth, there is nothing but Hindustan, Pakistan, Hindu, Muslim. I am asking Sanjay directly what did you do for graduates? BJP has no moral right to ask for votes in MLC elections,” Seethakka said.

“How many people got jobs in Telangana after BJP came to power? How much employment has been provided? Public sector enterprises were dismantled. Jobs were destroyed in the name of privatization,” she explained.

The NDA government, which does politics in the name of God, imposed GST even on incense sticks used for performing puja. It is imposing 18 per cent GST on higher education, causing hardship to the people, the Minister said.

Alleging that the Centre failed to implement the promises given during bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Seethakka said that the BJP leaders only raise religious sentiments during elections. She asked Sanjay not to lessen India’s prominence by comparing it with Pakistan and urged the BJP leaders to prevent him from speaking nonsense.

“You (Centre) have done nothing for the country except insulting it by comparing it with Pakistan, which is bankrupt due to starvation and internal problems. If you want to fight with Pakistan, participate in the war like soldiers on the Indian borders,” she said.

“Such hateful speeches damage the unity of Indians. He is insulting the country’s honor by comparing India with Pakistan, which is backward in all fields. We need to compare with developed countries,” she said, daring the BJP to contest the elections on the basis of development.

She blamed the Central government for failing to commence tribal university works. Requesting voters to think wisely during graduates MLC elections, Seethakka urged them to support educationist V Narender Reddy and ensure his victory.

Stating that the State government provided 54,000 jobs during the year, she alleged that both the BRS and BJP were the same.
