Sell Cotton at Government Procurement Centres: Chief Whip Aadi Srinivas

Karimnagar: Government Chief Whip and MLA Aadi Srinivas urged cotton farmers to sell their produce at Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) procurement centres to receive the maximum support price (MSP) of Rs 7,521 per quintal. He inaugurated the centres in several villages in Vemulawada Urban mandal, Rajanna Sircilla district, on Monday.

Srinivas advised farmers to bring cotton with a moisture content of 8 to 12 per cent to the CCI centres and assured them of a smooth process for weighing and bank transfers of payments.

He noted that officials have established around 200 procurement centres in the district to collect cotton with adequate moisture content. He advised farmers to avoid selling to middlemen to prevent exploitation.

The MLA also announced that officials have designated godowns at Apparel Park in Sircilla municipality for grain storage. He highlighted the government’s commitment to the agricultural sector, noting the recent Rs 18,000-crore crop loan waiver and plans to implement the Rythu Bharosa scheme soon.
