Sewer pipes lying for over a year in narrow lane, complain Chille Moula Ali residents

Hyderabad: Residents of Chille Moula Ali, Imlibun, under the Yakutpura Assembly constituency, have expressed concern over large stoneware glazed (SWG) pipes lying unattended near the graveyard for over two years. The pipes, reportedly part of a sewer line project, have been causing inconvenience to the locals.

Amjed Ullah Khan, a spokesman of the Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), said, “I visited this area last year during the elections and these same pipes were lying here back then. It has been more than a year now, but nothing has been done.”

This negligence is causing unnecessary trouble to the residents,” he added.

“We don’t even know which department is responsible for these pipes, but we want them removed immediately, ” said Farhan S., a resident.

Another resident Riyaz Ali stressed the problems caused by the pipes being stored in a narrow lane, especially when they need to take a body for burial. “These pipes create issues when we need to carry a body for burial. It’s very inconvenient and disrespectful.”

Nagender Kumar, CGM, HMWS&SB said that the pipes belong to the Gowlipura section and were a part of a sanctioned sewer line project. However, the ongoing box drain construction by the GHMC ahd delayed progress. “With the GHMC work nearing completion, the sewer line project would start within a week,” he added.

The residents, however, are demanding that the authorities take immediate action.
