HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old housewife from Odisha, who was reportedly lured by a local for surrogacy and abused sexually, died by suicide in an apartment at Gachibowli.
The victim was subject to sexual abuse by the man, who a month back reportedly brought her to his apartment at My Home Bhooja in Gachibowli promising to pay Rs 10 lakh for surrogacy, reliable sources said.
The victim Ashvita Singh was found dead in suspicious circumstances in the lawn of her apartment. Police suspect that she was unable to bear the harassment by Rajesh Babu.
Around 11 pm on Tuesday, she called her husband Sanjay Singh and informed him that Rajesh Babu was forcing to have a physical relationship with her and she had decided to end her life. On rushing home by 1 am, Sanjay went to the ninth floor along with the security guard and found his wife’s body in the lawn, Raidurgam police said.
Police registered a case of abetment to suicide and sexual harassment against Rajesh Babu under section 75 (11) and 108 of BNS and took him into custody.
