Shops on pavements razed in Mailardevpally

Hyderabad: To remove encroachments on footpaths and roads at Vambay Colony and Lakshmiguda locality in Mailardevpally, the officials from the GHMC, town planning wing, carried out demolition drive, on Wednesday. The unauthorized structures and shops on the pavements causing inconvenience to pedestrians and their safety as well as creating traffic congestion — were razed.

The drive was carried out after the receipt of several complaints from locals about illegal structures and shops causing obstructions to vehicular traffic and others.
Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud visited the spot and had discussions with the GHMC officials. He urged the officials to take care of the concerns of the affected individuals.
Rajendranagar deputy commissioner Ravi Kumar stated that the encroachments were causing inconvenience to pedestrians as well as traffic congestion. “Hence, unauthorised establishments or encroachments on roads or pavements will be removed,” he warned.
