Vehicle Usage at Lok Bhavan To Be Cut by 50 per Cent
Shukla further said that he had already reduced the number of vehicles in his convoy after assuming office in Telangana

Hyderabad: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla directed that vehicle usage at Lok Bhavan be cut by 50 per cent and stated that he would request Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to instruct state ministers and officials to use fewer vehicles. He appealed to the people to participate in conserving fuel and safeguarding foreign exchange, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to the nation recently.
In a video message released by Lok Bhavan on Thursday, the Governor said that the Prime Minister Modi had set an example by reducing the number of vehicles in his own convoy despite security concerns.
"Just as the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister and the Defence Minister have set an example, public representatives must follow suit," Governor Shukla said.
Pointing to the global energy crisis triggered by the conflict between the United States and Iran, Shukla stressed the need to reduce dependence on crude oil imports and conserve foreign exchange. He urged every citizen to act responsibly to protect the value of the national currency.
The Governor also said there was a need to intensify the fight against narcotics. He that a campaign in Himachal Pradesh against drugs had succeeded with media support.
