Sikhs Celebrate Vaisakhi With Great Fervour
Thousands of Sikh devotees and people of all faiths join in Gurbani Keertans to honor the Khalsa Panth’s founding.

Hyderabad: The 326th Khalsa Panth Foundation Day, popularly known as Vaisakhi, was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm by the Sikh community here on Sunday. The grand event was held under the aegis of the Prabhandak Committee of Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet.
The main congregation took place at the Sri Guru Gobind Singhji playground, Ameerpet, where thousands of Sikh devotees and people of other faiths participated in the Vishaal Deewan (mass congregation). From 11.30 am to 5 pm, the venue resonated with Gurbani Keertans and Kathas (sermons) delivered by renowned Ragi Jathas invited from across the country. Their messages emphasised living by high moral values and recalled the founding of the Khalsa Panth. They urged followers to uphold Guru Granth Sahibji’s teachings of peace, communal harmony, and national unity.
After the congregation, the traditional Guru ka Langar (community meal) was served, prepared by devoted volunteers. In the evening, a grand and colourful Nagar Keertan (holy procession) was taken out from Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet, passing through Begumpet, Punjagutta, and returning to the Gurudwara. The Guru Granth Sahibji was reverently carried on a beautifully decorated vehicle, accompanied by Nishaan Saheban. Keertani Jathas of men, women, and youth sang hymns, while Panj Pyaras and Sikh youths performed breathtaking Gatka martial arts, organised by Kalgidhar Dashmesh Jatha. Kada Prasad, tea, and snacks were served to devotees and passersby en route.
The festivities will continue with Vaisakhi Raen Sabhai Keertan Darbar (Night Congregation) to be held from 9 pm to 1.30 am on April 14 at the same venue.
