Situation Tense in Jainoor Following Rape Bid on Adivasi Woman
Adilabad: Tension prevailed in Jainoor mandal headquarters when irate Adivasis burnt a few shops and vehicles belonging to a community in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district on Wednesday.
In retaliation, the other community burnt a few shops belonging to OBCs and upper caste Hindus in Jainoor town. Both groups pelted stones at each other.
A Masjid was attacked by some unknown miscreants.
Additional police force was deployed in Jainoor to control the situation. Adivasis gave a call for Jainoor Bandh today. Police imposed Section 44 and shut all traffic movement from Asifabad to Utnoor. Vehicles were directed to Mancherial from Adilabad. Six police check posts were set up at different places.
Police officials appealed to people not to spread rumours about the Jainoor incident and action will be initiated against those who spreads rumours.
A large number of Adivasis thronged the Jainoor mandal headquarters to stage protests against an attempt to rape of an Adivasi woman. The Adivasis gave a call for Jainoor Bandh today.
SP DV Srinivasa Rao and additional collector Deepak Tiwari of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district rushed to Jainoor and brought the situation under control.
Minister Seethakka said the state government will do justice to the victim, extend all support to her family. She consoled the family members of the victim and had interactions with the victim.
On the other hand, MIM president and Hyderabad MP posted on his ‘X’ account that he spoke to DGP Dr Jitender regarding the communal disturbances in Jainoor and claimed that DGP assured him that it was being monitored and additional forces were being sent.
Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay said he called DGP Dr Jitender over phone and inquired about the Jainoor incident and asked him to take stern action against the accused.
