Six Get 2-Day Jail for Drunken Driving
Traffic police caution motorbike riders against driving under the influence of alcohol

Nizamabad: Traffic police arrested 17 people on Friday for drunken driving and produced them before Second Class Magistrate Noorjahan. Six accused received two-day jail sentences while 11 others were fined Rs 15,500 each.
Among those sentenced to imprisonment were T. Santosh and Sheik Said from Khanapur, Sirnapally Anil from Mittapally, Vitobha from Gouthamnagar, Anil from Khanapur, and Sheik Imam Ali Dichpally.
Traffic inspector P. Prasad cautioned motorbike riders against driving under the influence, emphasising that such behavior endangers lives and attracts strict penalties.
Traffic Assistant Commissioner of Police T. Narayana stated that penalties for drunken driving will be determined by the driver’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC). He explained that the permissible limit is 35, noting that consuming as little as two beers or more than 60 ml of whisky can push a driver’s BAC beyond this threshold.
SP lauds cops for winning medals
Kamareddy: Superintendent of Police Ch. Sindhu Sharma lauded police personnel on Friday for winning 2 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals at the Telangana State Level Police Games and Sports Meet-2025. The winners, including gold medallist Tirupati, silver medallists Balaraj, J. Ankosh, N. Sarichand, Rajesh, and bronze medallists P. Praveen and N. Prabhu, met the SP at the district police office where she presented gifts to the district and zonal level achievers.
SP Sindhu Sharma urged the medalists to aim for national-level success and bring further pride to Kamareddy district.
