Hyderabad: Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday said that the state government would complete work on the Srisailam left bank canal (SLBC) tunnel in two years along with the construction of a reservoir in Nalgonda district.
He was speaking during a visit to the Robbins Company, known for its tunnel boring equipment, in Ohio in the US along with Lock Hom, company CEO.
Lock displayed advanced construction machinery used for tunnel excavation to the minister and briefed him about their performance. The minister requested the manufacturer to provide boring and cutting spare parts as soon as possible for tunnel excavation.
If the SLBC tunnel is completed, 3 lakh acres will be irrigated by gravity flow without the requirement for pumping and another one lakh acres will be irrigated by pumping through the Brahmanavellam project which is a part of Udaya Samudra project, Venkat Reddy said.
