Hyderabad: A speeding car veered off the road and hit a hut on the roadside, killing a four-year-old boy while his family was asleep in Sai Priya Colony in Medipally at about 2.30 am, police said on Saturday.
Police identified the victim as G. Harshith, whose parents are construction workers from Warangal. Police said Shiva Kumar, a private company employee, was at the wheel of the car. Kumar suffered a hand fracture and was admitted in a private hospital.
The examiners are yet to conduct the postmortem and the body will be handed over to the family. Medipally police booked a case of causing death by rash and negligent driving.
