Sridhar Babu proposes onboard of IITH Director to Skilled University

Hyderabad: IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu on Monday applauded the collaboration between IITH and Suzuki Motor to develop a navigation system for autonomous cars as a prime example of how academia and industry can come together to solve real-world challenges.

Taking part in a review meeting at IIT-Hyderabad (IIT-H), Sridhar Babu said the work being done here at TiHAN is not only advancing autonomous navigation technology but also ensuring that these innovations are tailored to meet the unique needs of Indian roads. This is crucial for the future of transportation in our country.

Sridhar Babu underscored the importance of reversing the brain drain and fostering the growth of Indian technocrats and said “We are making every effort to reverse the brain drain by creating world-class research and development opportunities right here in India. Initiatives like TiHAN, in collaboration with industry leaders such as Maruti Suzuki, are central to this mission.”

He said the government was equipping 65 ITIs with modern technologies and also proposed to onboard the director of IITH to Skilled University, the new initiative by the Telangana government.

Separately. while interacting with Egypt business delegates at the Secretariat, Sridhar Babu said that Telangana was fast emerging to compete with many nations in the pharma exports. Among Rs 1,16,182 crore exports from the state, pharma products exports accounted for Rs 36,893 crore. With a number of prestigious health institutions in the state, health tourism is growing at a rapid pace.

He told the Egyptian delegation that the state government had embarked on a massive programme to transform the women members of 67,000 self help groups to become crorepatis. The government is proposing to set up one industrial area each in all 119 Assembly segments, exclusively for women. The products prepared by the self help groups are in great demand all over the country and some products like handicrafts, artefacts and clothes are being exported to many countries.
