Sridhar Babu says focus on MSMEs in rural areas

Karimnagar: The Congress government is committed to expanding Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in rural Telangana to boost employment and economic development, said IT minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu. He inaugurated the new software firm Tek Genie Services Private Limited along with backward class minister Ponnam Prabhakar in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Sridhar Babu emphasised the state’s strategy to attract investments beyond Hyderabad, fostering industrial growth in tier-2 and tier-3 towns. He also highlighted plans to establish agro-processing units and mini-MSME industries to directly benefit farmers and generate jobs at the grassroots level.

Referring to his recent Davos trip, Sridhar Babu called it a successful investment drive that secured crucial agreements to create employment in Telangana. He also announced plans to promote innovative AI initiatives like DeepSeek, leveraging the country’s intellectual talent.

On the upcoming MLC elections, the minister confirmed that the Congress candidate will be announced within the next two to three days. With current MLC T. Jeevan Reddy opting out, the party is reviewing applications, expressing confidence in securing victory.
