State Level Badminton Tournament Begins in Nizamabad
Nizamabad: Telangana’s State-Level Open Masters Badminton Tournament-2024 kicked off on Saturday at the Officers Club. The event was inaugurated by district collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, who emphasised the importance of incorporating sports into daily routines for a healthier lifestyle. “Sports will pave the way for cordial relations and enhance both physical and mental health,” he remarked.
Collector Hanumanthu highlighted that the current generation increasingly engages in sports, exercises, and yoga to maintain a healthy consciousness. Taher Bin Hamdan, Urdu Academy State chairman and Officers Club vice-president, stated that the state government is prioritising sports development. He mentioned that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has decided to establish a Sports University in Telangana. Additionally, Hamdan urged district administrations to propose the establishment of a swimming pool within the Officers Club premises.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha chairman Anthireddy Raji Reddy, TGOs district president A. Kishan, and representatives from the Officers Club, underscoring the event’s significance in promoting sports across the state.
