Students Fined For Coming Late After Christmas

Hyderabad:
Students of SC Gurukul School in Kondurg, Rangareddy district, were fined ₹500 for returning late after Christmas holidays on Thursday.

Students were allegedly denied entry to the hostel upon their delayed return. The principal and staff made the students wait outside the gate for several hours before eventually allowing them inside.

This caused a stir as parents protested against the fine. Following this, the parents were warned that their children would not be allowed to continue staying at the residential school if the fine was not paid. With no alternative, parents transferred the fine as instructed by the principal.

Principal Mohd. Kurshid stated that the Christmas holidays were limited to two days, and students were required to return to school on December 27. However, some students failed to return even after a week.

He added that the fine was intended to create awareness among parents about the importance of punctuality. The amount collected as a fine was later refunded to the parents.
