Hyderabad: Quick action by Madhapur police saved a woman who was attempting to die by suicide at the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge on Monday. She was facing financial issues, police said. Constable Prashanth noticed Sunitha crying on the bridge. When she refused to budge, he called his seniors who rescued her. She was unable to speak clearly and was taken to a hospital, Madhapur traffic inspector G. Narsaiah said.
Elsewhere. Sai, who had written his civil service prelims on Sunday, died by suicide at a hotel in Ayyappa Society of Madhapur. He had checked into the hotel with four friends.
In Medchal mandal, B. Suresh reportedly died by suicide at a burial ground. Suresh had left home after a quarrel with his wife.
Also in Medchal, Shivalakshmi, 33, died by suicide due to family disputes. She had argued with her husband Madhusudan from Erukala Basti in Medchal town, police said.
