The hotel management assured that it would pay the remaining amount by March 10.
When a warrant notice issued seven days earlier did not get any response, GHMC officials seized the premises.

According to GHMC data, there are over 19 lakh properties that are under the tax net and more are being added. Among them six lakh are defaulters, which comes to an overall due of Rs 400 crore.
“ Since we started issuing warrant notices, around Rs two crore has been collected. Approximately, Rs 1,480 crore tax amount has already been collected this year,” said a GHMC official.
“We have made tax payment hassle-free. Crackdown against property tax defaulters will continue and their premises will be sealed,” said a GHMC official.
