Take over Padmanayaka land, demands AIFB

Karimnagar:The government must take over the 10 acres of government-assigned land on which Padmanayaka function halls were built and establish a welfare school and college on that land, demanded the members of the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) after submitting a representation to the district collector Pamela Satpathy participating here in a grievance day programme in Karimnagar on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, AIFB Karimnagar district general secretary Bandari Shekar alleged that a dominant community built three function halls in the name of Padmanayaka 30 years back in the government land without obtaining any permission from the municipal authorities. The land is now in the heart of the Karimnagar city.

“They are also planning to extend the facility with the funds sanctioned by the BRS Rajya Sabha member Joginipally Santosh Kumar. There is no parking place and fire safety measures in the function hall,” alleged the AIFB leader demanding that the government conduct a comprehensive survey with the revenue and municipal officials.

Several government schools, colleges and welfare hostels are running in rented buildings. The government must reassign the function hall land for the construction of either government educational institutions or welfare hostels as it would be highly beneficial for the students, Shekar demanded.
