Tarnaka junction to be reopened next month

Hyderabad: Tarnaka junction, which has remained closed for over eight years now, is get to be reopened for vehicular movement in January. GHMC has started removing the existing dividers and affecting other modifications.

The junction was closed to ensure free flow of traffic by way of u- turns at Railway degree college and near IICT.

“With the public lodging complaints continuously highlighting the inconvenience caused by U-turns at considerable distance, city traffic police and GHMC have decided to reopen the junction for commuters,” said Nallakunta traffic inspector Rambabu.

A GHMC official told Deccan Chronicle that works are under process, which will be completed by December. He said that GHMC has started construction of medians and widening of roads, wherever required.

R. Narasimha, a resident of Tarnaka, said, "The U-turns are too far and involves heavy fuel consumption."
