TCA Asks BCCI to End HCA’s Membership

Hyderabad: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has demanded that the BCCI end the membership of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) in view of alleged corruption and failure to promote cricket.

Addressing a press conference, TCA general secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy urged the Supreme Court to take note of ongoing investigation into corruption cases against HCA and reappoint Justice L. Nageswara Rao with representatives from the TCA and the BCCI as members to clean up the mess in HCA and to form a new state-level body for the entire state.

Since the BCCI had already asked HCA to include TCA as an affiliate in the past, the TCA cricketers and committees covering the jurisdiction of districts outside Hyderabad will get a fair chance, he said.

Guruva Reddy said that it has turned out to be a practice for the HCA management not to comply with directives given by a number of committees appointed on the direction of the Supreme Court.

TCA president Yendala Laxminarayana said the HCA apex counsel committed several violations in terms of appointing unqualified committees. The HCA in its 86th AGM as per the minutes of the meeting, passed the accounts of five financial years from 2019-2023 which are under scrutiny for forensic audit.

He said that the HCA stated that the accounts of three years in the same period were passed by Justice L Nageswara Rao Committee but it is not true.
