Nalgonda: Minister for roads and buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday said that teachers have a crucial role in shaping the futures of children. Inaugurating the Teachers’ Day celebrations held here on Thursday, he said the students studied in government schools have reached great heights in life and the government was bringing in reforms in the education system to make quality education accessible to the poor. He underlined the need to bring down the student-teacher ratio in government schools. The minister urged the teachers to enroll their children in government schools to give a positive signal to society.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajya Sabha member Koduru Vishwa Vijayendra Prasad said that the teachers should work to build confidence in the people in government schools. Nalgonda MP Kunduru Raghuveer Reddy said everyone should consider it a social responsibility to develop government schools on par with corporate schools. The state government has already initiated steps in this direction and introduced digital classrooms in government schools, he reminded. Bhongir MP Chama Kiram Kumar Reddy urged the teachers to increase the number of students in the government schools. The teachers should work with dedication and commitment to extend quality education to the students in government schools, he added.

Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham, Thungathurthy MLA Mandula Samuel, Miryalaguda MLA B. Laxma Reddy and district collector C. Narayana Reddy also attended the programme.
