Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatla Rajendar claimed that teachers were supporting the party in the Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Medak-Adilabad Legislative Council graduates’ election, citing the incumbent government’s alleged failure to implement the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and the delay in payment of five dearness allowance (DA) instalments. He asserted that the people, who had taught the BRS a lesson, were now ready to do the same to Congress.
Speaking to the media in Warangal as part of his campaign for the BJP’s MLC candidate, Rajendar criticised the Congress government for neglecting retired teachers' dues. He also accused the previous BRS government of causing significant hardship to teachers through GO 317, adding that the BJP had fought on their behalf. Highlighting issues in the education sector, he pointed out that fee reimbursement in colleges had been stalled for the last four years and that there was a shortage of teaching staff in medical, junior, degree, and PG colleges.
Rajendar urged voters to support BJP candidate Puli Sarotham Reddy, highlighting his leadership in the PRTU teachers’ union and contributions to the education sector.
The MP also raised concerns over the caste survey conducted by the state government, questioning why only the Backward Classes (BC) population had declined. He stated that the ongoing resurvey was an admission of the government’s failure to conduct it properly. He further advised IAS officers not to follow political directives blindly, reminding them that while politicians would be in power for only five years, bureaucrats have a service span of 35 years.
