Teachers' Promotion Process Being Streamlined: Principal Secretary Burra Venkatesham
Hyderabad: Options for transfers will commence on Thursday soon after the seniority lists for school assistant transfers in multizone 2 are finalised.
This was assured by Burra Venkatesham, principal secretary (education) when members from the United Teachers Federation (UTF) and the Joint Action Committee of Teachers Organisations (JACTO) met him here on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing transfer and promotion process.
Venkatesham said that teachers who have not received promotions would continue in their current roles temporarily. The non-promoted pundits and physical education teachers (PETs) will remain in their schools until adjustments are made in the next three to four days. The directive aims to mitigate disruptions caused by the recent promotions.
The directorate of school education (DSE) is rectifying the errors in promotion orders for certain districts in multizone 1, he said.
"This will provide clarity to the transfer process, ensuring that eligible teachers are appropriately placed," said union leader G. Sadanandam Goud, later.
Teachers who have completed two years of service as of June 1, 2024 are now permitted to submit manual applications to the DEOs, said T. Linga Reddy, another union leader.
On the multiple subject promotions, Venkatesham explained that the DSE would collect official details of such cases from the respective DEOs.
Meanwhile, promotion orders were issued to SGTs in 19 districts and many teachers joined their new positions on Wednesday. Transfers for school assistants in 13 other multi-zone districts are set to commence soon, a source said.
