Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl died minutes after tying rakhis to her two brothers at a government hospital in Kodad in erstwhile Nalgonda district.
Unable to bear the harassment of a youngster demanding to accept his love proposal, the girl attempted suicide by consuming pesticide on Saturday. On seeing her in an unconscious state, the family members rushed her to the hospital.
Fearing that she would not be able to survive after consuming pesticide till ‘Raksha Bandhan’ festival on Monday, she tied separate rakhis to her elder and younger brother’s wrists on Saturday and died minutes later while undergoing treatment.
The girl was pursuing a diploma course in a college at Narasimhulupeta mandal in Kodad.
