Telangana ACB nabs two persons for accepting bribe

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Monday arrested two persons including an Assistant Engineer on charges of accepting bribes in separate incidents in the State.
Ch. Krishna, an Assistant Engineer at Kallakal Circle in Kallakal village in Manoharabad Mandal in Medak district, was caught by ACB when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs.20,000 from a complainant to release power supply by erecting 63KVA third-phase Distribution Transformer (DTR) under LT category III.
Krishna had initially demanded a bribe amount of Rs.30,000 from the complainant, out of which he had already accepted Rs.10,000, ACB officials said. In the second incident, the ACB caught Nallanti Vinod, who is a 32nd ward officer at Sathupalli Town in Khammam district, red handed by the ACB when he allegedly demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs.2.500 from a complainant, to process her ration card and Indiramma house sanction applications.
The ACB officials said the bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the arrested persons. They produced the two accused before the special court for ACB cases in Warangal and Nampally after which the court remanded them to judicial custody.
