Telangana ACB Raids Deputy Collector Vamshi Mohan’s Properties
The Rangareddy district ACB special teams are carrying out searches at eight places to collect more details about the DA assets

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked Marri Vamshi Mohan, a special grade deputy collector at the Medchal-Malkajgiri collectorate, alleging that he amassed assets with a document value of ₹6.22 crore which were disproportionate to his known sources of income. Officials said the market value of the properties could be more than the officially estimated numbers.
The ACB found the assets during simultaneous searches at the officer’s residence, office and 11 other locations linked to his relatives, associates and suspected benamidars, after registering a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
This follows a raid on Tuesday on HMWS&SB general manager Sangam Anantha Laxmi Kumar that yielded disproportionate assets worth over `5.8 crore.
Friday’s raids on Vamshi Mohan shed light on the assets, including 19 open plots valued at ₹4.46 crore, an independent house at NGOs Colony in Vanasthalipuram and two flats located at Manikonda and Masjidbanda, collectively valued at approximately ₹1.12 crore.
Officials also identified a farmhouse spread over two acres at Narrepally in Ibrahimpatnam, estimated to be worth ₹10 lakh. In addition, the officials recovered cash amounting to ₹2.1 lakh, bank deposits of nearly ₹20 lakh in five accounts and gold ornaments weighing about 122 grams. ACB also identified two vehicles worth around ₹32 lakh, including a high-end SUV and a car.
Further investigation reportedly revealed a suspicious land transaction involving eight acres of agricultural land in Piglipur of Abdullapurmet mandal. The land was allegedly purchased in 2023 in the name of Vijay Bhasker, the father-in-law of the accused officer. However, it is suspected that the land is government-owned and was sold to a realtor.
Officials said Vamshi Mohan would be arrested and produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad for judicial remand. Investigation into additional suspected assets is underway.
