Telangana: Ambulance driver abandons cardiac arrest patient on the road
WARANGAL: In a heartbreaking turn of events on Sunday, a 108 ambulance driver abandoned a cardiac arrest patient on the roadside in Kannepalli village of Mahadevpur mandal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
According to sources, Shanirgaram Bapureddy, a resident of Kannepalli village, suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in the afternoon. His family immediately rushed him to the government hospital at Mahadevpur mandal headquarters. After an initial assessment, doctors advised that he be transferred to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital for advanced care.
While en route to MGM Hospital in a 108 ambulance, the vehicle reached Bhupalpally town. It was then that the ambulance driver received a phone call. Without any explanation, he abruptly dropped Bapureddy and his anxious family members on the road and drove away, leaving them stranded in their moment of dire need.
Shocked and distressed, the family contacted a relative who is a local Congress leader. With his help, they arranged a private vehicle and transported Bapureddy to a private hospital in Warangal.
Deeply aggrieved by the incident, the relative lodged a complaint with the medical department officials, urging immediate action against the ambulance driver for his negligence.
