Telangana: Bandi Alleges BRS-Congress Collusion in RS Polls
Hyderabad: Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday said that the match-fixing between the BRS and the Congress is evident by the fact that despite having 38 MLAs they did not contest the Rajya Sabha polls. Congress candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi himself arguing on behalf of BRS leader Kavitha for a bail is a further proof of this.
Addressing the party cadre at the membership drive programme in Hyderabad, he said, “The BRS should answer why they are not fielding their candidate for the Rajya Sabha. They did not enter the fray as Singhvi argued for Kavitha’s bail. We only have eight MLAs, so we are not able to contest. If the BRS had contested their candidate would have won owing to cross-voting by Congress MLAs. As per information available with us, 10 Congress MLAs are in touch with BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao.”
The BJP embarked on a massive membership drive as per the direction of party president J.P. Nadda. “People are veering towards the BJP in the state and are volunteering to join the party. The BRS and Congress alliance has become clear to the people now and their merger will materialise soon,” he said.
Making further comments on the candidature of Singhvi the BJP leader characterised him as a joint candidate of the Congress and the BRS. The drama, he felt, is being enacted to divert attention from the promised Six Guarantees.
“Farmers are suffering because their loans haven’t been waived and they have not received Rythu Bharosa. Unemployed youth are awaiting assistance, women for scooty’s and one tola gold, while the old are seeking the promised Rs 2,500 and the old and infirm Aasara pension benefit of Rs 4,000,” the Union minister said.
The drama over the installation of statues should be stopped. Hype over HYDRAA is being made with an eye on collections. Officials who are demolishing houses are turning a blind eye to farmhouses built over acres of land. Most encroachments have been made by the Congress leaders. The entire exercise is being done to get funds to fight the Maharashtra and Haryana elections. The in-charge official Ranganath is reading the script given to him. He had filed a case against me also once, the former BJP state president said.
