Telangana: BJP MP Etala Rajendar Slams Congress Over Unfulfilled Promises

Hyderabad: BJP Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajendar said that the people had realised that they were cheated by the Revanth Reddy government within a short period after Congress came to power. The government’s tall claim of farm loan waiver was not true as most farmers had not benefited it, he claimed.

Addressing a party workers meeting in Rangareddy district, Rajendar said the Congress government had failed to fulfil the promises given to different sections of society.

“The government has not initiated any measure to provide Rs 15,000 assistance to farmers and Rs 12,000 to tenant farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. The government had stopped talking about filling up 2 lakh jobs, providing Rs 4,000 old age pensions and Rs 2,500 assistance to women,” he explained.

Asking the party workers to continue their agitation to pressure the Congress government to fulfil the poll promises, Rajendar said the people were now looking towards the BJP as a reliable alternative force.

“The BJP, which won three out of five Lok Sabha seats in the GHMC limits and secured 34 per cent vote share in the state, is the future of Telangana. The BJP will take every election seriously. The atmosphere is conducive for the BJP to show a good performance in the coming local body elections,” Rajendar said.

Taking part in a tree plantation programme, Rajendar said the mosquito menace has increased, and people have been falling sick as the lakes of Hyderabad city, which was once known as `the city of lakes’, have turned cesspools with drainage water.

Demanding that the government make a final decision for the apartments coming up in the full tank level of waterbodies in the city, Rajendar insisted that the government must protect the lakes.
