Telangana: CM urges Kshatriya businessmen to invest in Future City

Assures land for exclusive Kshatriyas' building in city

HYDERABAD: Recalling the sacrifices of Komaram Bheem in Telangana and Alluri Sitarama Raju from Andhra Pradesh during the freedom struggle, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday called upon Kshatriya businessmen to invest in the state government's ‘Future City’ initiative that is coming up near the airport in Shamshabad.

Reddy was speaking after being felicitated by the Kshatriya Seva Samithi at a programme in Gachibowli that was attended by hundreds of Kshatriya community businessmen.

The Chief Minister promised to allocate land to the Kshatriya community for the construction of a Kshatriya building in the city.

"The government will allocate an open plot for Kshatriyas. The organisers must complete the construction of the building in such a fast manner that the next Kshatriya meeting should be held in their own new building," Reddy said.

He also promised to give positions in the Congress to leaders from the Kshatriya community.

“Being the TPCC president and the Chief Minister, I promise to provide an opportunity to Kshatriya leaders to join the Congress and work hard. They can get party tickets in the ensuing GHMC elections,” he said. The Chief Minister asked businessmen in the community to invest in ‘Future City’, which will not only develop Hyderabad but also provide jobs to thousands of Telangana youth.

The state government would recognise the services of Kshatriyas, who migrated to Hyderabad from Andhra Pradesh in 1960 and introduced a new crop — grape cultivation at Kompally village, which has since developed into a big town.

B. Ramalinga Raju established a number of companies, including the erstwhile Satyam Computers, and many Kshatriyas invested in pharma, education, medical and other sectors. The government would encourage Kshatriyas to invest more in Telangana as part of the state’s development, the Chief Minister said.

Reddy said that IAS officer Srinivasa Raju, who retired from AP government services, has been appointed adviser in the Telangana government. Kshatriya community leaders must approach him to submit representations to the government.

The Congress high command provided a minister’s post to Bose Raju in the Karnataka government.

For the state government's new project — Young India Skill University —the government had appointed businessman Srini Raju as its co-chairperson, Reddy said.
