Telangana: Couple Killed in Road Mishap on Highway
Nizamabad: A couple, identified as Maggidi Laxman (57) and his wife Maggidi Rajamani (52) of Kosli village in Navipet mandal, died in a road accident late Friday night on the Nizamabad-Basar highway. The accident occurred when a speeding lorry from the Basar route collided with their motorbike, killing them on the spot.
Sources reported that the couple had visited their daughter's in-laws in Abbapur village earlier that day and were returning home on their motorbike. The collision happened near a narrow curve at the Mission Bhagiratha water tank when the lorry, coming from the opposite direction, struck their vehicle.
Navipet police arrived at the scene, transported the bodies to Government General Hospital in Nizamabad for post-mortem, and registered a case. An investigation into the incident is underway.
Family members and relatives were inconsolable at the scene of the tragedy. The last rites of the deceased were conducted on Saturday in their native village.
