Telangana DCA officials raid medical shop, quack’s clinic for committing violations

Hyderabad: Officials of Drugs Control Administration (DCA) raided a medical shop at Wankidi Village in Neradigonda Mandal in Adilabad for operating illegally without a drug license and seized the stocks.

They also raided a quack’s clinic and seized drugs stocked for sale at Shaikpet in Jubilee Hills apart from seizing two overpriced medicines - Tver ointment and Sazolet 500 mg in Sangareddy district. The MRP indicated was high compared to the ceiling price fixed for the product by the Central government.

The DCA seized Rudifer tablets (Ferrous Ascorbate, Folic Acid and Zinc tablets) in Hayathnagar as the tablets were falsely manufactured and sold under the guise of food products and nutraceuticals.

The official seized certain medicines due to misleading advertisements. The medicines include - Yuriwin tablets, claimed to treat ‘kidney stones’, Rumafin oil, claimed to treat ‘rheumatoid arthritis’, Thyro-C capsule, claimed to treat ‘goitre’, Unkold N Flu Ultra tablets, claimed to treat ‘fever’ and Tulasi powder claimed to treat fevers.

Yuriwin, Rumafin oil, Thyro-C and Tulasi claimed to be ayurvedic medicine while Unkold N Flu Ultra tablets as allopathic medicine, according to DCA Director-General VB Kamalasan Reddy.
