Telangana Dominates JEE Main 2026: 5 Students Secure 100 Percentile
Toppers said they are now aiming to get into top IITs by securing good ranks in upcoming JEE Advanced.

Hyderabad:Five students from Telangana secured 100 percentile in JEE Main 2026 Paper-1 for entrance into BE and BTech courses in premier institutes, in the results released by National Testing Agency on Monday. The five toppers were Mantha Shiva Kamesh, Dornala Bhavittesh Reddy, Sai Rithvik Reddy Venkatreddy Valla, Vivan Sharad Mahiswari and Rishi Premnath.
Overall, 26 candidates secured 100 percentile in the JEE Main nationwide. Mallavarapu Aasna secured 99.99 percentile and emerged as the female topper from Telangana, while in the PwBD category Nanala Naga Chaitanya secured 99.78 percentile. In the ST category Mokalla Sharath Chandra scores 99.97 percentile.

The JEE Main serves as the gateway for admission into NITs, IIITs and other top engineering colleges across the country.
Toppers said they are now aiming to get into top IITs by securing good ranks in upcoming JEE Advanced.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle Bhavittesh Reddy, common rank list (CRL)-1, said his next target was the JEE Advanced. “I followed the timetable and studied 12 hours per day. Whenever I feel stressed I used to sit calm for some time or go to sleep,” he said. He added that he decided to become an IITian in Class 9 and began focused preparation from Class 11.

Sharad Mahiswari (CRL-19) said he never found any subject or topic difficult. “I am aiming to get a seat in IIT Bombay and my current focus is on the JEE Advanced,” he said.
Sai Rithvik Reddy (CRL-14) said he did not expect such a good result and was surprised by his percentile. He said he attempted the exam with Physics followed by Mathematics and Chemistry to save time. “I want to pursue my goals by joining IIT Bombay,” he said and explained that he managed stress by playing table tennis.
The NTA conducted Session-1 in January and Session-2 in April. A total of 11,10,904 registered for Session-2 of whom 10,34,330 took the exam.
