Telangana GENCO CMD reviews power utilities summer action plan

Hyderabad: Telangana Energy department Principal Secretary and TGGENCO CMD Sandeep Kumar Sultania on Tuesday reviewed the summer action plan of power utilities to meet the expected increase in loads during upcoming summer season.

During the meeting held at Vidyut Soudha, Sultania expressed satisfaction over present power supply position in the State during on-going agriculture crop season (Rabi) and further directed field engineers of GENCO, TRANSCO, Southern Power Distribution Company (SPDCL) and Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (NPDCL) to continue to strive hard to maintain quality and reliable power supply.

He asked officials to take measures to reduce the 33KV and 11KV interruptions to the possible extent. In case of any feeder breakdowns, the Centralized Breakdown (CBD) staff shall rush to the spot and rectify the faults and restore the normal power supply immediately.

There should not be any lapse in extending value added services to all categories of consumers, he cautioned.

The Transmission Director appraised that ongoing 400KV, 220KV and 132KV substation augmentation works will be completed before the onset of summer and associated Extra High Voltage (EHT) lines will be laid on top priority.

Keeping in view, the rapid growth of electricity demand especially in GHMC area, Discoms officials have given a detailed presentation about distribution network of SPDCL and NPDCL analyzing the problems faced in the past and identifying the likely issues to be faced in up-coming summer season along with proposed action plan to be implemented to avoid recurrence of such problems.

Sultania has reviewed the stock position of all major and critical equipment and suggested that in addition to central Stores of TRANSCO at Hyderabad another two material stores may be established at other places of state so as to mobilize the equipment for speedy execution of works and also to save the transportation cost.
