Telangana: Government Staff Demands Fulfillment of Poll Promises

Hyderabad: Employees are set to hold an extended meeting on their pending issues on Tuesday at the Sundarayya Vignana Kendram to seek resolution of grievances that they said were pending for 10 years. They said the Congress had not yet fulfilled its poll promises 10 months after coming into power.

The TNGO leaders, who addressed the media on Monday, said the joint action committee of Telangana employees, gazetted officers, teachers, workers and pensioners’ central executive committee will discuss further course of action.

“The JAC will strive to have good relations with the state government and help it in implementing its welfare programmes. The employees gave a month’s salary to the government as part of their social responsibility to help the flood-affected people. The Congress party should keep the promises made in its manifesto,” the JAC leaders said.

JAC chairman M. Jagadishwar and secretary general Yeluru Srinivas Rao addressed the gathering. Those who attended include teachers, class four employees, drivers, workers and pensioners, CPS and outsourcing and contract employees. Prof. Kodandaram will be felicitated on September 24, the leaders informed.
