Telangana government to perform Ramoji Rao's last rites with state honours
Hyderabad: Media baron and Padma Vibhushan awardee Cherukuri Ramoji Rao passed away on Saturday morning.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy condoled the death of Rao and hailed the Eeenadu chairman for his dedication to journalism.
The CM said that the Telangana government has decided to conduct the last rites of Ramoji Rao with state honour. Accordingly, Revanth Reddy, who has gone to New Delhi to attend the CWC meet, issued orders to the chief secretary to take the necessary action.
Orders were issued to Rangareddy collector and Cyberabad commissioner too through the CS to supervise the arrangement.
Revanth said that credibility of blending ethics with the industrial sector goes to Ramoji Rao. His demise would leave a void in the media industry which none can fill, he said.
He expressed condolences to the bereaved family members and said he would pray for Rao's soul. Revanth Reddy spoke to the Ramoji Rao's family members on phone from New Delhi.
