Telangana government to promote local products and self-reliance: Minister Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: IT minister D. Sridhar Babu appreciated the work of Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) in promoting local products and spreading the message of self-reliance. He was doing so despite ideological differences, Sridhar Babu said at the pre-launch event for the Swadeshi Mela to be held at Haritha Plaza from October 23 to 27.

Sridhar Babu emphasised the state government's commitment to supporting the promotion of indigenous businesses and said a collaborative supply chain system between the SJM and the government could further boost rural development and women’s empowerment.

Dr Sattu Lingamurthy, convener of the Dakshin Madhya Kshetra of the SJM, said that the organisation’s mission was to protect Indian businesses while fostering economic self-reliance. “Our movement has been successfully championing the cause since 1998, and we continue to oppose trade agreements under the WTO that harm India’s interests,” he added.

The event was attended by prominent figures from business and media, including co-convener Sharath Reddy.
