Telangana Government to Release Rs 1,200 Cr for Landless Farmers

Hyderabad: Panchayati raj minister D. Seethakka announced in the Assembly on Saturday that the government would release Rs 1,200 crore for beneficiaries under the Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa. Under the scheme, the government is provide Rs 12,000 annually to each landless farmer in rural areas. They include landless labourers who have worked at least 20 days under the MGNREGS.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA Vakiti Srihari accused the previous BRS government of neglecting the animal husbandry sector and mismanaging the sheep distribution programme. He alleged that the BRS government was involved in a Rs 700 crore scam, with the ACB registering cases and arresting over 12 individuals, including a former minister’s OSD and the CEO of the scheme.
