Telangana Government to Unveil Telangana Talli Today

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would unveil the Telangana Talli statue at the Secretariat on Monday. A day before the unveiling of the statue, the Chief Minister along with the ministers visited the Secretariat and examined the arrangements at the premises.

The 20-foot height statue, Telangana Talli, resembles an ordinary woman of Telangana. With kumkuma on her forehead, the statue is draped in a green sari. She holds maize and paddy panicles in her left hand, and has her right hand in Abhaya Mudra, which symbolises protection, peace, and the dispelling of fear.

She wears red and green bangles, anklets, a nose ring and three ornaments around her neck. The beneath of the statue, it was also designed with fisting hands indicating the Telangana struggle and unity of the people.

The statue was designed by the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University’s Prof. Gangadhar and his team members. It is made of bronze and cost the government Rs.5.3 crore.

Hundreds of guests including political leaders of several political parties, VVIPs, commissioners, chairmen, and public servants were invited for the event. The government also invited the Telangana intellectuals, students, martyrs' family members for the programme.
