Telangana govt. relieves senior IPS officers Anjani Kumar, Bisht to report in AP

Two senior IPS officers were relieved following instructions from MHA

Hyderabad: The State government here on Saturday relieved Director-General of Police and Chairman of Road Safety Authority Anjani Kumar and Dr. RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy Director Abhilasha Bisht from Telangana to enable them to report in Andhra Pradesh.

Separate orders to this effect were issued on Saturday, according to Chief Secretary A Shanti Kumari. The orders were issued following instructions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Shanti Kumari said Telangana Director-General of Police would take necessary action in the matter.

The State government, however, wrote a letter to the Election Commission of India (ECI) explaining about the MHA’s instructions to relieve Karimnagar Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty. The relieving of Mohanty is likely to take some time in view of the MLC polls.

The biennial elections to the Telangana State Legislative Council from Graduates' and Teachers' constituencies - Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates' and Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers are scheduled on February 27.
