Telangana Govt. Targets Swift, Error-Free Indiramma Housing Distribution

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that the poorest of the poor should be prioritised in the allocation of houses under the Indiramma housing scheme, even as he outlined a detailed roadmap to ensure that the benefits reached the most disadvantaged sections of society.

The scheme will prioritise physically challenged individuals, agricultural labourers, landless people, and sanitation workers, in that order, according to the decision reached at a review meeting on Friday evening.

Revanth Reddy directed officials to expedite the allocation process for those owning land in the first phase, with village secretaries and Mandal-level officers being made accountable for selecting the beneficiaries through the use of advanced technology.

He instructed officials to ensure the seamless functioning of the Indiramma housing mobile app to avoid any difficulties for beneficiaries during the application or allocation process. Stressing the importance of precision, the CM warned against errors or delays at the departmental level and suggested creating a special quota for tribal communities and Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) under the scheme.

To provide flexibility, beneficiaries will be permitted to construct additional rooms in their allotted houses if they desire. The Chief Minister also stressed strengthening the housing department by appointing adequate staff and officers to ensure efficient implementation.

Housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Chief Minister's adviser Vem Narender Reddy, principal secretary Chandrasekhar Reddy, housing secretary Dr Jyoti Buddha Prakash, and special secretary V.P. Gautam were present at the meeting.
