Telangana Govt to Appoint 235 Contract Doctors for Osmania, Gandhi Hospital
Hyderabad: The health department on Tuesday issued a notification for the appointment of 235 doctors on a contractual basis for Osmania General Hospital (OGH) and Gandhi General Hospitals (GGH).
The hiring will be done, as said by State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha, for the positions of professors, associate professors, assistant professors, senior resident doctors, and tutors.
At Osmania Hospital, 175 vacancies will be filled including eight professors, 23 associate professors, 111 assistant professors and 33 senior resident doctors. At Gandhi Hospital, three professors, 29 assistant professors, 29 senior resident doctors and four tutors positions have been invited, making total appointments to be 60.
The appointments will be conducted through walk-in interviews, which will be conducted on August 9, 2024.
Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha had instructed officials to expedite the appointments. The Hyderabad District Collector, Additional Collector, Director of Medical Education, and Commissioner of Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad have been appointed as nodal officers to ensure a transparent selection process.
Meanwhile, many doctors have expressed concern over transfer of most of the doctors from OGH and GGH to peripheral colleges and filling of important posts through contract basis. Those in the favour of transfers have said that contract based postings have been done in the past as well.
