Telangana govt to enhance security and city infra, says Bhatti
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the state government was giving utmost priority to strengthen the Anti-Narcotics Bureau and Cyber Security Bureau to check the menace of narcotic drugs and cyber crimes in the state.
Speaking at the Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) meeting held at the Police Command Control Centre on Friday, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the state government's commitment to enhancing both the city's infrastructure and security apparatus.
Bhatti said the state government allocated `10,000 crore in the state Budget 2024-25 for Hyderabad, marking an unprecedented investment in the city's development.
He stressed the importance of bolstering the Anti-Narcotics Bureau and Cyber Security Bureau, stating that full funding will be provided to these critical sectors. "This allocation reflects our government's dedication to security and development, not only in Hyderabad but across the state," Bhatti stated.
He also called for stringent regulation of private security agencies, urging them to obtain proper licences and ensure that they provide employment opportunities to rural youth. He stressed that these agencies must pay their employees fair wages as per contractual agreements, advocating for Telangana to become a model state in the collaboration between private security firms and state police in the field of security.
Bhatti stressed the need to enhance physical security measures, particularly in light of the state's increasing urbanisation and economic growth. He acknowledged the crucial role that private security personnel play in maintaining security and generating employment, with approximately four lakh security staff serving the state, including one lakh in Hyderabad alone.
Bhatti said the state government will effectively implement the Private Security Agencies Act in Telangana, ensuring that the state's security framework is both comprehensive and inclusive.
