Revanth’s Future City to get UDA
Nearly 14,000 acres required for Future City will be acquired through land pooling

Hyderabad: The state government is all set to expedite Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's ambitious Future City project by establishing a special urban development authority (UDA) to oversee the development and ensure efficient planning in the region.
Official sources said that 71 gram panchayats from five mandals in Rangareddy district — Kandukur, Maheshwaram, Ibrahimpatnam, Yacharam, and Kadthal — will fall under the jurisdiction of the new UDA.
Villages along the proposed 330-foot-wide greenfield road connecting the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the upcoming Regional Ring Road (RRR) will also be included under the UDA’s purview. The government has expedited land acquisition for the construction of the greenfield road, which is crucial for linking the ORR and RRR.
The new UDA will follow a structure similar to the National Capital Region (NCR) in Delhi and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, providing a framework for efficient urban management and growth. Meerkhanpet village has been chosen as the core of the UDA, which will span five mandals in Rangareddy district. The UDA’s jurisdiction will cover villages on both sides of the greenfield road from Ravirala junction to Akuthotapally.
The state government envisions developing Future City over a sprawling 30,000 acres on the city outskirts. Notably, 13,973 acres of land acquired during the BRS regime for the Pharma City project will now be repurposed for the Future City. Efforts are underway to acquire the remaining 16,000 acres through a land pooling initiative.
The Future City aims to be a global hub for future growth, focusing on cutting-edge industries, research and development centres, and technology parks, which are expected to boost employment and innovation.
