Telangana HC directs JNTUH and AICTE to extend edit option to Mahabub college

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court came to the rescue of about 1,800 students of Swami Vivekananda Institute of Technology (SVIT), who were on the verge of losing their academic year due to disputes between Mahabub College Educational society and Venkat Narayana Educational Society.

Justice K. Lakshman directed JNTUH and AICTE to provide an edit option to Mahabub college and society, and allow it to create credentials and upload details of the students to the university.

Since the last date for uploading the details of the documents is February 2, the High Court directed the university and AICTE to comply with the directions by January 30.

The court made it clear that the said orders have been issued to protect the interests of the students of the SVIT and it was not going into the disputes between the management of Mahabub college and the Venkat Narayana Educational Society.

After submissions from both sides, the court concluded that there was no dispute over the society’s land as it belongs to Mahabub college, the parent body of the educational society.

However, the court also made it clear that the society shall not use the latest orders issued by the court for other purposes.
