Telangana HC Grants Conditional Anticipatory Bail to Actor Raj Tarun
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court granted conditional anticipatory bail to film actor Raj Tarun in a case filed against him by his former girlfriend Lavanya, restraining the police from arresting him.
Justice Juvvadi Sri Devi said Tarun should surrender before the Narsingi station house officer within two weeks, upon while he will be released on bail after executing a personal bond for Rs 20,000 with two sureties for like sum each.
Tarun should appear before the police every Saturday between 11 am and 5 pm for eight weeks or till the filing of the chargesheet, and cooperate with the investigating officer in investigating the case.
Lavanya had filed a case under the charges of cheating her in the name of marriage, intimidation and exploiting her mentally, physically and emotionally. Tarun`s contention was that Lavanya had a habit of lodging false cases against innocent persons to extort money.
He recalled a case from 2023 when she had lodged a complaint with the Pattabhipuram police against one Ravi Bavaji Masthan Rao, accusing him of cheating her with a promise of marriage and raping her. She was remanded for 45 days in a drugs case, he claimed.
The court said there was no material on record to substantiate the claim of marriage between Tarun and Lavanya. The earlier complaint which was lodged by Lavanya falsifies the complaint against Tarun.
