Telangana HC refuses to stay Group-2 exams
To be held as scheduled from Dec. 15

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Monday refused to stay conduct of Group -2 competitive examination, which is scheduled for December 15 and 16.
Justice Pulla Karthik was hearing a petition filed by Ravula Jyothi and 22 other aspirants, who said that the dates were clashing with other competitive exams.
P.S. Rajashekar, standing counsel for the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), informed the court that the Group-2 Examination will be held from December 15 and around 5.51 lakh students are appearing for the exam and over a lakh candidates had downloaded the hall tickets.
He said that all arrangements for the examination had been done, including logistics, invigilators, security and examination centres. Staying the examination as sought by a few students, will deprive lakhs the opportunity of writing the group-2 examination.
Jagganagari Venkat Sai, counsel for the petitioners, said that the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exams were scheduled from December 16 to 18. The notification was issued on 27-7-2024 for 7,951 posts.
The judge, after considering the contentions of the standing counsel said that at this stage, the Group-2 examination could not be stayed and issued notices to the Chief Secretary, TGPSC secretary and RRB secretary.
